The A259 eastbound has partially reopened weeks after it was closed due to the Royal Albion Hotel fire.
It was closed in both directions on July 15 while emergency services tended to the blaze in the hotel.
Two and a half weeks later, on August 3, the road was reopened westbound - much to the relief of motorists who had been facing severe delays while being diverted through the city.
Now, exactly six weeks since the fire broke out, two lanes of the A259 Grand Junction Avenue have been reopened to traffic on the eastbound side.

Brighton and Hove City Council said the opening will help ease congestion in the city centre over the bank holiday weekend.
A spokesman for the council said: "Repairs are still ongoing, and health and safety remains our priority. We would like to thank residents and businesses for their patience during this period.
"The teams involved are working hard to complete this work quickly and help minimise disruption."
