People have had their say on the best bakeries in Brighton.
Suggestions came after four bakeries were named among the best in the country by Isaac Bartlett-Copeland who co-founded Embers restaurant in Meeting House Lane, Brighton.
His top picks were Sugardough, Julien Plumart, The Flour Pot and Real Patisserie.
The Argus asked readers online and on Facebook to share their favourites and there were two clear winners.
In the dozens of responses, Real Patisserie came out top with more than 100 people saying it is their favourite bakery in Brighton.
The bakery began in Trafalgar Street, Brighton, more than 25 years ago and now has branches in Western Road and Church Road in Hove and Broadwater in Worthing.
It is known for its artisan breads and miniature tarts but also caters for events with wholesale options.
Ravens Bakery in Ditchling Road was another clear winner with dozens of commenters on Facebook voting for it as their favourite.
The bakery is popular all year round but hot cross bun lovers queue down the street from 6am on Good Friday to get their hands on the seasonal treat.
Another popular choice was The Village Bakery in Old London Road, Patcham.
Selling doughnuts, curry pies and everything in between, it is a favourite for Patcham residents but some readers from Brighton city centre said they travel up there to get their baked treats.
Coburn And Baker in Auckland Drive in Bevendean, Brighton was the favourite wholesaler.
Voters said they “could not believe” the vegetarian bakery had not got a spot in the Isaac’s ranking.
Stoneham Bakehouse, a bakery in Stoneham Road, Hove also had a few votes.
The bakery sells bread and sweet buns and even offers courses where you can learn how to bake your own bagels, Scandinavian buns and focaccia.
Honorary mentions Hellenic Bakery at Seven Dials, Famous Cake Company in Warren Way and Woodingdean and Infinity Foods in Gardner Street.
Julien Plumart, The Flour Pot and Sugardough all snatched a few more votes too.
