A man has been caught on camera defecating in an alleyway outside people’s homes.
CCTV footage from Pool Passage in Brighton shows the man checking the coast is clear before squatting behind some bins and pulling his underwear down.
The incident is the latest for the notorious alleyway plagued with sex, drugs and anti-social behaviour with residents finding five piles of human faeces in the last six months.
The passage is at the back of a restaurant.
Resident Hughie O’Neill, whose front door has been plagued by the issues, said: “I was really disappointed, he did it right in front of the restaurant door.
“The weirdest thing was he got up and took a picture of it.
“That’s the fifth poo we have had in the last six months. They usually do it up by the bins.”
The CCTV footage from just before 3am on Sunday morning shows the man defecating behind the bins before using toilet paper, washing his hands with a bottle of water and taking a picture.
The incident is the latest in a string of issues surrounding Pool Passage after a notorious video caught two people having sex in the alleyway.
Hughie, 72, said that the addition of a gate at one end, which The Argus campaigned for, had helped the situation but the problems persisted.

Hughie said that in recent months someone had tried to run a bike into him and thrown a bottle at him. He also found the remnants of a fire in the alleyway.
He added: “We only see it when we are there but we aren’t there all the time. People are always confronting someone at the top of the alleyway.”

A Sussex Police spokesman said: “We are aware of issues of antisocial behaviour linked to Pool Passage in Brighton and work alongside residents and community partners to put measures in place to address them.
“This includes working with the local authority’s Cityclean team about having damage cleaned up.
“Further work includes the installation of improved and fixed street lighting, extra street cleaning, working with local businesses to help secure their waste bins and engaging with owners of local licensed premises, who are encouraged to remind their customers to be considerate of neighbouring residents.
“Our officers also carry out regular patrols around the city centre, including Pool Passage, as part of ongoing safety work around the night-time economy as well as during the day.”
Hughie and wife Chris had previously called for a second gate to be installed at the other end of the alleyway but Brighton and Hove City Council said this was not possible.
Brighton and Hove City Council was approached for comment.
