A woman has reportedly been hit by a bus on a busy city centre road.
The incident was reported to have occurred shortly after 6pm in North Street in Brighton.
The Argus understands that the woman was conscious immediately following the incident and was assisted by passers-by who came to her aid.
A witness to the incident said: "I heard a thud and the bus stopped.
"A group of bus passengers were assisting a woman who was conscious but lying on the pavement opposite Poundland in North Street."
Photos from the scene show a crowd of people near a 5A bus parked in North Street.
Sussex Police officers and ambulance crews later arrived on the scene with staff wearing hi-vis helping to direct traffic.
Brighton and Hove Buses were approached for comment.
