A market has been named among the best seaside shopping spots in the country in a new study.
Brighton Open Market in Marshalls Row near London Road was named fourth best seaside market in the UK and the best in the South.
The market, which is home to more than 30 traders, ranked highly due to a high number of Google searches for it as well as its engagement with social media users.
Markets were also ranked on their Tripadvisor ratings.
One visitor said: “I have loved re-discovering the Open Market.
“There is so much to see and you can pick up everything from bread, cheese and veg to more special products like freshly made houmous, gluten free cakes, teas, honey and herbal remedies. There are also art studios and homeware and clothes stalls. Definitely worth a visit.”
Another reviewer praised the market’s handmade products and described it as “perfect for children”.
The study by Gazebo shop found the top seaside markets in the UK were in Tynemouth, Swansea and Fleetwood.
Brighton Market is open from 7am to 7pm in the week, 7am to 5pm on Saturday and 10am to 5pm on Sunday.
