New businesses are flooding into Brighton Marina with a wide selection of restaurants and entertainment sites arriving in the city.
Businesses including a virtual reality golf room and Turkish grill are among the influx of new businesses coming to the boardwalk this summer.
Marina representatives say the restaurants, which also include the Karen’s Diner site which opened last week, will help to boost the local economy in the city.
Among the businesses opening is Aydo Lounge, a high-end Turkish grill opened by expatriate Aydin Unat.
Aydin said: “I wanted to create a sumptuous and luxurious space for Brighton and Hove residents to enjoy the décor & ambience, as well as the food.
“We will have a variety of regular music and DJs throughout the week and are hoping to be the new destination for visitors outside of Sussex.”
Also opening in the Marina is VGolf, a virtual reality golf simulator which also includes shuffleboard lanes and virtual reality darts.
The business joins other entertainment offerings in the marina including the Cineworld Cinema, Vrroom virtual reality racing simulator and Glowballs crazy golf room.
Other sites opening in Brighton Marina include:
- Café Havana – a restaurant and shisha lounge serving burgers and peri peri chicken.
- Marina Village store – a village shop-style site set up by two Syrian refugees.
- Kutchenhaus – a kitchen showroom
- Karen’s Diner – a TikTok famous American diner where customers are ribbed and ridiculed by staff.
Keith Malcolm, chairman of the Brighton Marina residents' association, said: “It’s been great to see a flurry of new businesses coming to the Marina in the last few months.
“With three new restaurants opening on the waterside Boardwalk this summer, as well as new recreational businesses Vroom Racing and Vgolf complementing existing outlets, the leisure and dining choices on our doorsteps are much improved. The new retail outlets in the Village Square area are also very welcome.
“It benefits all of us who live in the Marina to have thriving commercial activities in this unusual location by the sea that we share and I’m sure Marina residents will wish the new businesses every success as well as supporting them as customers.”
