Hit Channel 4 television show Married at First Sight is searching for contestants in Sussex and the South East to star in its upcoming series.

The program sees single people paired together by experts and marry total strangers on the first time of meeting.

Michelle Walder, from Hastings, took part in the show’s fifth series in 2020 aged 25, and three years on has just announced she and husband Owen Jenkins are expecting their first child together.

Things do not always end up going so well for the newlyweds, however, with season four’s Jack, from Brighton, calling an end to his marriage with Verity just three months on saying she was “not the one”.

But anyone feeling they trust the methods of the partnership professionals is in luck, as the show is still looking for people to join.

A producer told The Argus: “We are coming towards the final stages of our casting for the new series, and anyone interested in joining can apply online now.”

Participants are given a wedding and “luxury honeymoon” free of charge.

Applicants must be aged 18 and over and “feel ready for marriage”. The closing date for applications is December 1, 2023.
