Teams from the coastguard and the British Divers Marine Rescue team have been working to take care of the whale this afternoon.
Aerial footage showed the whale on the edge of the waves being splashed with water while laying on its side.
The teams later covered the whale in towels and poured water on it in a bid to keep it hydrated.
British Divers Marien Rescue were approached for comment.
