Several flypasts at a Sussex airshow have been cancelled at last minute due to poor weather conditions.
Displays from a United States Air Force Stratotanker and a Battle of Britain memorial flight were both among the aircraft grounded at Airbourne, Eastbourne’s annual airshow, due to the conditions.
The start of displays has been also repeatedly delayed as a result of the poor weather.
A yellow weather warning was in place across Sussex earlier today for thunderstorms, with conditions remaining cloudy around Eastbourne.
A second weather warning, also for thunderstorms, will come into force across most of the county from 8pm tonight.
Flying is currently expected to start at 4.10pm with a Chinook display.
A display from the Red Arrows is due to take place today, after being cancelled yesterday after a “technical fault”.
However, organisers have yet to confirm whether the weather conditions will cause the display to be grounded for a second day.
The Royal Air Forces’ aerobatic display team is due to fly every day until Sunday between 4pm and 5pm.
Announcing that the display would return today as planned, organisers said: “Following a pause due to an engineering issue, the Red Arrows will resume display flying today, subject to weather conditions.”
