Homes across the county are at risk of flooding tomorrow while tall buildings and structures could be struck by lightning.
The Met Office has issued a yellow thunderstorm warning for all of Sussex from 6am until 12pm on Friday (August 18).
Officials say there is a “chance of flooding of a few homes and businesses leading to some damage to buildings or structures” during the storm.
People should also expect “some damage to a few buildings and structures from lightning strikes, as well as short-term loss of power”.
A spokesman for The Met Office said: “A line of thunderstorms are expected to develop during Friday morning and move gradually northeast before weakening into the afternoon.

“Whilst most places will only see a short period of heavy rain, a few places may see 30 to 40 mm of rain in less than two hours.
“In addition to heavy rain, some thunderstorms may produce frequent lightning.”
Drivers have been urged to take extra caution on the roads as driving conditions could well be affected by spray and standing water, “leading to longer journey times”, while delays on the railway are also expected.
