A large emergency response was triggered following a medical emergency.
HM Coastguard, ambulance crew, Sussex Police and an Air Ambulance Kent, Surrey, Sussex helicopter could be seen on Beachy Head, near Eastbourne, at around 5.30pm.
Pictures show multiple helicopters and emergency vehicles attending the incident.
A Sussex Police spokesman said: “Police were called at 5.20pm on August 13 to assist emergency services with a medical incident off the coast near Eastbourne.”
