Double Olympic gold medallist Daley Thompson is to open a new gym after a previous establishment suddenly closed down.
Hybrid Fitness will launch its newest site in St Heliers Avenue in Hove in the autumn following extensive renovations of the gym.
The site was previously home to the Sports Direct gym which closed unexpectedly in November last year with only a week’s notice.
Daley Thompson, who is franchising his second gym with Hybrid, said: “I am delighted to be opening my second Hybrid Fitness in Hove.
"After the success of Wimbledon and the incredible response we’ve had from the locals it made sense to start looking at future sites.
"Hybrid Fitness have been nothing short of excellent and I am very happy to continue working with them, bringing new gyms to new areas.”
The gym aims to offer "a quality experience" with hot yoga, strength training and combat including Jiu Jistu and Krav Maga.
The site, set over two floors, also includes spaces for boxing as well as group classes.
Memberships for other Hybrid sites in London cost about £55, while early bird memberships in Hove are currently listed as £29 for the first 200 members.
Hybrid Fitness has sites around London including Reigate, Putney and Wimbledon as well as upcoming sites in Manchester and Loughton.
Mark Talley, managing director of Hybrid Fitness, said: “We are delighted to officially announce Hybrid Fitness Hove.

“This is another exciting development for the business after the recent opening of our Wimbledon club. This will be another large club that will once again showcase the very best that we have to offer.
“We are delighted that Daley Thompson has opted to take on Hove as the franchisee in addition to Wimbledon, it’s a sign of the confidence he has in our brand and product.”
Daley Thompson won gold in the decathlon at the 1980 and 1984 Olympics.
An exact opening date for the Hove gym is yet to be confirmed.
