The top ten GP surgeries in Sussex for overall patient satisfaction have been revealed.

Northiam Surgery in Rye finished top of the 157 GP surgeries in the county in the latest NHS patient survey.

Pavilion Surgery in Old Steine was the best GP surgery in Brighton for patient satisfaction with a 96.51 per cent rating.

The survey asked residents for their views on their doctors' surgeries across a range of different areas.

The number of surveys completed varies from surgery to surgery and does not represent every patient who is registered at any one centre.

It was recorded between January and April this year.

Amy Galea, chief primary care officer for NHS Sussex, said: “Capturing patients' experiences is important to help us understand what works well and where things needs to change.

"We are always working alongside GP practices in Sussex to improve, enhance and shape our services to help make sure they meet the needs of the people who live in Sussex.

"We know many local GP practices have worked extremely hard to improve overall patient experience by using new phone systems to help connect people quicker and introducing new roles to offer a range of options and services for patients when they need help.

"In Sussex, more than half the patients in our Primary Care Networks report satisfaction rates above the national average and we will be looking to learn lessons from those who are achieving high scores, such as the surgeries identified.”
