A man has been seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle on a zebra crossing.
The pedestrian was walking over the zebra crossing when he was struck by the dark coloured vehicle which then failed to stop.
Emergency services rushed to the scene to treat the man who suffered serious injuries in the hit and run on Upperton Road in Eastbourne.
A Sussex Police spokesman said: “Anyone who witnessed the collision, captured any relevant footage on dash cam or CCTV, or has seen a dark coloured vehicle with obvious damage to it being driven in the area, is urged to come forward.
You can email collision.appeal@sussex.police.uk quoting serial 1646 of 26/07.”
The road was closed near the Ocklynge Road junction following the hit and run at around 7.50pm yesterday but has since re-opened.
