Demolition of the Royal Albion Hotel is now well under way.
Latest pictures show deconstruction of the facade of the hotel in Grand Junction Road, Brighton, more than ten days after the devastating fire broke out.
The demolition is being carried out to ensure the building is "structurally safe", Brighton and Hove City Council said.
This work is noisy but the council said it is working hard to ensure it takes place "as swiftly and as safely as possible" to minimise disruption to neighbouring properties and roads.
Barriers have been placed around the seafront hotel to make the site safe.

"If residents or businesses in the area notice any dust or smoke in the air, please keep windows and doors closed," the council spokesman said.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service is continuing to make regular visits to check on the structure and security will remain on site throughout.
Businesses outside the exclusion zone have been allowed to reopen but the council has advised them to carry out their own risk assessments to ensure the safety of their staff and customers.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue has served a prohibition notice on the hotel, restricting access to it, as there is no electricity in the building and the smoke alarms and emergency lighting are not functioning.
