Firefighters have attended another blaze at a seafront hotel 500 metres away from the burnt out shell of the Royal Albion.
Crews were called to the Harbour Hotel in King’s Road, Brighton, at around 1.20pm this afternoon.
Two fire engines attended the fire which is believed to have been on the third floor of the 170-year-old building.
The fire is understood to only be minor.
It comes just over a week after the devastating fire last weekend at the Royal Albion hotel 500 metres east.
An East Sussex Fire and Rescue spokeswoman said: “East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were called at 1.20pm to King’s Road, Brighton, to reports of a fire.
“Firefighters from Preston Circus are on scene using a 12m ladder, cutting away and dampening down is in progress.”
The Royal Albion hotel, in Grand Junction Road, Brighton, went up in flames last Saturday, July 15.

It prompted a massive emergency services response as the fire spread through the hotel’s west wing.
Smoke billowed across Brighton as firefighters battled the flames over the weekend.
It was the first time since the Blitz in 1940 that London Fire Brigade were called to an emergency in Brighton.
Demolition started on Wednesday but was halted on Friday when the fire flared up in a “new location” inside the Royal Albion.
Firefighters from Preston Circus, Hove and Roedean attended and an internal search took place.
Crews also sprayed water into the first and third floors of the building.
Demolition of the Grade II* listed hotel’s west wing continued yesterday.
In January last year, firefighters attended an electrical fire in a manhole near the Harbour Hotel.
Sussex Police also put in a 30 metre cordon for the area and evacuated nearby buildings, including a nightclub nearby.
The England Rugby team were staying in the hotel at the time of the fire last year.
