MP Caroline Lucas and Green Party candidate Sian Berry are backing university staff who are on the picket line.
The closeknit pair are supporting UCU union members of the University of Brighton at their Grand Parade campus.
The MP for Brighton Pavilion will join the picket in a show of solidarity for those on strike.
A spokesman for Ms Lucas said: “The government has tied the hands of universities who are in dispute with staff over pay, pensions and workloads.

“Staff at the University of Brighton taking part in a lawful marking boycott, supported by a legal ballot, are being docked 100 per cent of their wages, despite doing all other aspects of their jobs.
“The University of Brighton initially put some 400 members of staff on notice of being at risk of redundancy and 25 are now being forced out of their jobs after voluntary redundancies.”
Ms Lucas and Ms Berry are calling on the government to intervene.
