A railway station worker was brutally attacked and badly injured after challenging someone over tickets.
A staff member at Crawley Station challenged a man who pushed through the ticket barrier without a ticket at around 4.05pm on June 25.
The man then punched him, before stamping on his head, resulting in three eye fractures, a jaw fracture and another fracture to his shoulder.
Officers investigating the attack believe the man captured in the CCTV images could help their investigation - and they are appealing to the public for help.
A spokesman for the British Transport Police said: "Detectives investigating a serious assault against a member of rail staff are today releasing this image in connection.
"If you recognise him or have any information please contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting ref 435 of 25/06/23.
"Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
A spokeswoman for Govia Thameslink Railway, which operates Southern, said it cannot comment on the ongoing investigation.
