The very best musicians from the world of jazz and funk head to the county this afternoon for day one of Glynde’s Love Supreme festival.

Set in the glorious pastures surrounding Glyndebourne Opera house, Love Supreme is a three-day party where happiness and laughter float through the air constantly.

It’s a beautiful setting perfectly suited to the multiple genres of the weekend, with this year’s line-up proving the festival isn’t afraid to push the boundaries of what people would usually expect.

Headlining the Saturday, for example, is UK rapper Little Simz – a major name for Love Supreme to get on the bill.

Elsewhere fans will be treated to hard-hitters such as disco chart-topper Candi Staton, bass extraordinaire Marcus Miller, and the legendary Grace Jones.

For those favouring something smoother, check out Greentea Peng and Yussef Dayes. Both are absolutely sublime, perfect while chilling in the fields with an iced coffee in the sunshine.

There’s something for all tastes here. A beautiful mash up of stomping funk, enchanting jazz, irresistible disco and everything in between.

But it’s not just about the music at Love Supreme. There is some fantastic food at Love Supreme, too. Falafel salad, chicken noodles, avocado salads– you name it. The winner for us last year, however, had to be a gorgeous chicken, chorizo and chickpea wrap.

There’s yoga classes, a restaurant, dance sessions and even an area for children. It’s genuinely a festival for all.

It’s all about the feel at Love Supreme, from the tractor ride from the railway station up to the site, or strolling through the campsite feeling wet, dewy grass in the morning flick between your toes. Hearing gorgeous bass riffs float through the breeze or simply have a good old lie down in the sun while the soft wind drifts by. There’s nowhere quite like it.

And the good news it, there’s still a handful of camping tickets left. We can’t recommend you check out this gem of a festival enough.

We'll bring you updates from the festival all weekend.
