Two Sussex restaurants have been added to the Michelin Guide.
Dill in South Street, Lewes, and Palmito in Western Road, Hove, have been applauded for their culinary offerings.
Writing about Palmito, described as a “neighbourhood restaurant”, the guide said: “The plates are small and the flavours are big at this wonderful little neighbourhood restaurant.
“The style of the food is described as ‘spice driven’ and draws on multiple global cuisines across the selection of affordable dishes.
“The décor is simple and understated but the cooking is bold and interesting with an appropriate degree of care taken in the kitchen.”
Taking inspiration from South America as well as South Asia, Palmito prides itself on locally sourced foods as well as an “eclectic”, ever-changing menu.

Among the plates served are hand-dived scallops with ancho pepper and dulse seaweed butter as well as birria pork tacos and masala-stuffed padron peppers.
On Dill, the Michelin Guide said: “There’s plenty of originality on offer in the selection of small plates at this admirably inventive bistro.
“The menu adopts a global approach and wide-ranging influences but nothing feels borrowed or copied from elsewhere with such uniquely put-together dishes.
“A rustic interior and quirkily shaped dining room combine with the blackboard menus to give the place an intimate, welcoming feel that is only enhanced by the knowledgeable and personable service team.”
With a focus on the sea, Dill offers meals including an ox tongue crumpet, glazed with Marmite and with pickled turnips and cockles.
While Michelin stars are only announced yearly, the guide is updated monthly with new chef's favourites.
Restaurants with Michelin stars in Sussex include Ben Wilkinson at The Pass in Horsham, Interlude in Lower Beeding and Gravetye Manor in East Grinstead.
