Buses running through the city will be given a lick of paint as a company has announced a landmark branding overhaul.
Passengers will soon wave goodbye to the familiar red and cream buses as Brighton and Hove Buses sets out to better reflect the brand's modern intentions.
The new livery will go hand in hand with a new logo, which bosses said will "reflect the spirit" of the city when the first bus rolls out of the depot this autumn.
And the company said passengers are a huge fan of the design. It showcased the new design to commuters at Churchill Square. Some said the design was "a bit old school" and "overdue a revamp".
They said the new design "shouts out seaside" and it's got a bit of "umph" about it.
The bus company's 222 buses will all be painted in a blue design over the coming months and years, following on from the "Live and Breathe" designs featured on buses operating on the 1 and 5.
Ed Wills, managing director at Brighton & Hove Buses, said: “Our brand livery has not changed much since the 90s, but we, and our city, have changed hugely in that time.
"That’s why we’re transforming our brand to more accurately represent the spirit of who we are today and the unique, vibrant city that we serve.
"It's been a long time in the planning.”
Existing special bus designs, such as the Pride and Brighton and Hove Albion livery will remain in the bus company's fleet along with the Regency and Coaster route designs, such as the 12 and 28.
The new logo will also feature the same colour scheme, still including the eye-catching ampersand - now themed with a line to represent a journey.
A spokesman for the company added: "The first of the new buses, designed to better reflect the Brighton & Hove geography with the colours of the sky and the sea, are likely to arrive in autumn and will continue to be rolled out gradually over the next few years."
