Police are working to identify a woman whose body was found on a beach this afternoon.
A member of the public discovered the body on Pevensey Beach, near Eastbourne, with police and ambulance crews attending shortly after.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers are trying to find out who the woman was and how she died.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “Police were called to Pevensey Beach this afternoon the body of a woman was discovered by a member of the public.
“She was sadly confirmed dead at the scene.
“Enquiries are ongoing to identify her and establish the full circumstances of the situation.”
