Construction is under way on a new student accommodation block at the site of a former Marks and Spencer store.
Builders have been hard at work on the five-storey building in London Road, Brighton, which will house shops and 156 purpose-built student flats.
The development replaces a former 1930s Marks and Spencer, which was demolished in autumn last year.

Three storeys of the new building have been constructed so far.
Plans for the new student accommodation block were approved back in 2021 by Brighton and Hove City Council.
It is not yet known which shops will move into the new development once complete.
Poundland and Iceland were forced to move out of the old building in June last year when work on the student block began.
Residents have expressed hope that the new development will help tackle antisocial behaviour and drugs issues in the area.
Another student housing block on the other side of the road opened in September last year, with Nando’s becoming the latest business to move into the building, along with the Co-op, Starbucks and dessert restaurant Heavenly Desserts.
