More than 30 people from across Sussex have been recognised in this year’s King’s Birthday Honours list.

Those from the county honoured in the list include vice-chancellor of the University of Brighton Professor Debra Humphris, University of Sussex professor and Argus columnist Ivor Gaber and founder of tradespeople website Checkatrade.com Kevin Byrne.

The list recognises the achievements and service of people from across the country, from all walks of life.

This year’s honours are the first to be awarded by King Charles III since becoming monarch in September last year.

Among the famous faces recognised are former footballer Ian Wright, Vogue editor in chief Dame Anna Wintour and novelist Sir Ian McEwan.
