A section of the seafront has been cordoned off as police attend an incident on the beach.
Officers have taped off a section of the beach in Eastbourne close to Helen Garden and have been seen examining part of the shore.
A bystander told The Argus: “I could see several officers taking pictures where the tide had gone out.
“It appeared they had taped off the seafront and the beach, with some nearby pathways also coned off.”

At least two police cars and several police officers have been spotted at the scene.
The incident comes as holidaymakers and sun-seekers have flocked to the coast across Sussex to make the most of the warm and sunny weather.
Sussex Police have been contacted for comment.
