Starbucks are set to open their newest store after taking over a former hotel on the side of the A27.
The new coffee shop, which opens tomorrow, will create a range of jobs as part of the takeover opening tomorrow.
In a transformation of the site, the former bar and restaurant will now play host to the American franchise and allow drivers to get their caffeine fix on the go.
Vanessa Duffield, shift supervisor at the site near Lewes, said: “It’s a unique experience to be able to open a brand new store. The building is beautiful, with lots of space for customers to enjoy and share community.
“We’re really looking forward to welcoming everyone and creating a lovely space.”
The new coffee shop, franchised by Cobra Coffee, will take over the old Newmarket Inn and Hotel in Old Brighton Road between Falmer and Lewes.

The site previously housed the restaurant and 15-bed hotel but struggled following the Covid-19 pandemic and closed in 2021.
After remaining empty since the closure, the site was sold in January and has been renovated to house the Starbucks store.
Will Thomas, director at property firm Flude, said: “This was a particularly pleasing transaction as it was initially identified as an undervalued and unloved asset and then acquired on behalf of our clients last year.
“With such good demand for sites suitable for roadside retail services and with this being prominently positioned on a major road into Brighton, this was always considered the most likely end user.”
As part of the new opening, which will create 10 jobs, the store will offer 50 customers free reusable cups during the first week.
The store has also committed to being a part of Too Good To Go, a food collection service which aims to reduce food waste by selling bundles of surplus food at a cut price.
Starbucks will open on Old Brighton Road tomorrow. The store will be open from 7am to 7pm during the week, as well as 7.30am to 7pm on Saturday and 8am to 6pm on Sunday.
