A group of teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of having weapons as a property was raided by police.
The group, aged between 17 and 18, were stopped and searched by officers out on patrol with all four arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon in public.
Later, a property was searched in relation to the investigation, which is ongoing while the group have been bailed pending further enquiries. Two of them were also arrested on suspicion of theft while one was also arrested for possession of cannabis.
A Sussex Police spokesman said: “On May 27 officers conducted a stop and search of four young men in Hamble Road, Sompting, while on patrol in the area.
“On May 28, officers attended and searched an address in Hangleton Way in Brighton.

“An 18-year-old man was arrested for possession of an offensive weapon in public, possession of a class B drug, namely cannabis, and theft from the person of another.
“An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon in public.
“A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon in public.
“They have all been bailed, pending further enquiries.”
