The shops and cafes set to be available in the county’s newest hospital building have been revealed.
Some 1,700 recommendations were made to University Hospitals Sussex (UHSussex) about which outlets should land a contract for the Louisa Martindale Building (LMB), Brighton.
The new building is set to open next month and will feature a Peabody café and WHSmith store, complete with a Marks and Spencer food line.
A spokesman for UHSussex said: “Affordability, speed and access, extended opening hours, and healthy options were the top four priorities shared in the survey we ran asking staff and the public what was important to them in prospective food and retail outlets for the LMB.

“The companies that best met the requirements were Peadbody’s Coffee, which will run a café on level six with a seated terrace in addition to a takeaway out on level one.
“WHSmith will provide retail services on level one, incorporating a food range from Marks and Spencer.”
UHSussex provided a brief update on the opening of the LMB, saying that the building is receiving its final fit out of equipment with staff recruitment and training also well underway.
