Arundel has been named Sussex’s pub hotspot with the most establishments per person, according to a new study.
The historic town was named as the best place to find a drink in the county, as other smaller towns also placed highly on the list.
While Brighton unsurprisingly had the most pubs in the Sussex, Rye and Petworth are also seen as hotspots due to the number of customers in each site.
In Arundel, the study of Camra’s pub guide found that there were 276 people living in the town for each of the 11 pubs in the area.

In contrast, Brighton scored lowly on the list despite having 207 pubs in the city as the high population figures mean that there are 1,339 people per pub.
Other sites that scored highly on the list include Petworth, where a population of just over 2,500 people mean that there were 648 residents for each of the town’s four pubs.
In villages in Sussex, Lancing was found to have the greatest number of pubs, with seven establishments in the area.
Four pubs were found in the Camra guide in Alfriston, Billinghurst and Rottingdean among other villages.
