A non-league footballer has been named among the first set of contestants for the newest series of Love Island.
Tyrique Hyde was announced on social media this morning as one of the first people to be entering the villa when the hit dating show returns to ITV next week.
Tyrique, 24, played for Lewes FC last season and joined the club in October, 2022.
The footballer said he would "bring vibes, confidence, good energy and honesty" to the Villa when he enters next week.
Tyrique added: "I don’t sit on the fence, if I have an opinion I will speak up. I’m also not afraid to go after what I want."
He is deaf in one ear and grew up with former Islander Toby Aromolaran, who reached the final previously and is also a semi-professional footballer.
Tyrique is listed as a central midfielder on Lewes FC’s website and has previously played for Dagenham and Redbridge, Colchester, Dartford and Dulwich Hamlet.
He is the son of former Premier League Micah Hyde, who made more than 250 appearances for Watford as a midfielder.

Lewes ended their Isthmian Premier league season by just missing out on play-off football at The Dripping Pan after finishing sixth on goal difference to Cray Wonderers despite a 3-1 win against Canvey Island.
The newest series of Love Island is set to air on Monday, June 5, headed by presenter Maya Jama.
The news comes after Brighton-born Olivia Hawkins featured in the winter edition of the show, which was filmed in South Africa.
