A car burst into flames on a main road into a county town, with three fire engines responding to the incident.
Fire crews made their way to the scene of a fire involving a Volkswagen Golf in Lewes High Street yesterday afternoon.
Firefighters used breathing apparatus equipment and two hose reel jets to extinguish the blaze, which took hold of the car near Lewes Old Grammar School's Mead House.
A spokeswoman for East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said that the fire, believed to be accidental, did not cause any injuries.
