Police descended on a residential street after reports of a "wanted person".
Three police cars and a dog unit were called to Poplar Close in Hangleton.
They went to the road opposite Hangleton Primary School at around 4.15pm on Friday.
Upon arrival there was no trace of the wanted person.

A Sussex Police spokeswoman said: "Police received information a wanted person was in the area at around 4.15pm on Friday, May 12.
"Officers attended but there was no trace."
