With The Great Escape festival now nothing but a constant ringing in our ears, we have found some of the best pictures from the festival weekend.

Brighton was transformed into a celebration of all things new music as the Great Escape Festival returned to the city for its 17th year.

Artists from punk to techno were spotted, and heard, performing in venues across the city - which was a huge festival site between Wednesday and Saturday.

Every stage was within walking distance from another, whether that be the purpose-built stages on Brighton beach near Madeira Drive to longstanding haunts like Chalk in Pool Valley.

The festival closed with a landmark show from London singer Arlo Parks.

She took centre stage at the Brighton Dome on Saturday as she shared her thoughtful and often poetic lyrics with a packed-out crowd.

Her first ever live gig was performed in Brighton at The Great Escape festival in 2019, when she was tipped to be the next big thing - and needless to say, she was.

Arlo said her decision to go full-time with her music was made on the pebbles on Brighton Beach after her performance.

But the festival is also about celebrating up-and-coming musicians from across the world, from the vulgar lyrics of Australia's Big Wett, whose name doesn't leave much to the imagination, to the stripped-back acoustic set of Paris Paloma.

There really was something for everyone.
