While it will be music to the ears of many local businesses to see that the new Labour administration intends to bring Brighton and Hove's shopping areas back to life, how are they going to achieve this without reversing all the insane car-banishing measures they and the Greens have collaborated on in recent years?
I see so many people on social media vowing they will never visit Brighton again after falling foul of a bus gate fine on their way home or complaining it's become so difficult and expensive to park here, they go to Eastbourne or Worthing instead.
Brighton and Hove is no longer a welcoming tourist resort. It has even closed down its Tourist Information Office in addition to many public toilets.
Labour has a lot to do to reverse the rot but disappointingly I see they are committed to Ulez charging and 20-minute neighbourhoods, which can only accelerate this city's decline.
