A man has been remanded in custody after he was charged with the rape of a 12-year-old girl in a car park in the city.
Officers were called to a car park in Brighton Marina at about 2pm on Sunday May 7.
The man was arrested by an officer and was taken to custody.
A 12-year-old girl, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, is receiving support from specially-trained officers.

Niall O’Sullivan, 27, a motor mechanic from Birmingham, was charged with the rape of a girl under the age of 13.
He appeared before Brighton Magistrates’ Court on May 9, where he was remanded in custody to appear before Lewes Crown Court on June 6.
A spokesman for Sussex Police said: "Witnesses or anyone with information is asked to report it to us online or call 101 and quote reference 749 of 07/05."
