An “ongoing police presence” is expected in a city park today after an eight-year-old boy was hit by a lorry.
Police vehicles were stationed in Brighton's Preston Park long into the evening yesterday after a major emergency service response near a circus.
The young boy was hit by the lorry, believed to be part of the circus, at around 1.30pm and was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.
Sussex Police said while there was no update regarding the case, an ongoing police presence was “likely” throughout today.
A bystander told The Argus: "There was a huge police presence in the north end of Preston Park with a cordon.
"People gathered around the cordon to see what was going on and liaise with the police."
