Traffic has been forced to back up along the A27 ahead of months of delays.
Drivers filed along in one lane of the road near the Shoreham Bypass as a result of repair works done to barriers in the area.
The queues from Southwick Tunnel to the airport were caused by an accident on the road over the weekend.
Stop start traffic could be seen around rush hour with delays around 45 minutes this morning.

Traffic data suggests that delays are now in place all the way from Lancing to Shoreham.
The current barrier on the link road joining the carriageway was damaged in the early hours of Saturday morning following a crash.
A man was taken to hospital as a result and the road was closed.
A “bespoke barrier” is being manufactured and fitted for the road.
The section of the A27 was also closed on Sunday night for urgent repair works.
