Lidl has announced plans to open multiple new stores across Brighton and Sussex in the coming years.

The supermarket has announced plans to expand to 1,100 stores nationwide, including over 30 in the county.

Multiple sites in city centres and on the outskirts of towns are being considered, with six potential spots identified in Brighton.

Potential sites in the city could include in the city centre and on London Road as well as stores in Moulsecoomb, Portslade and Hollingbury.

Other sites in wider Sussex include two stores in Crawley, two stores in Eastbourne and sites in Worthing, Lewes and Seaford.

Lidl has also stated it wants to relocate some of its stores to other sites such as in Kemptown and Three Bridges.

The supermarket chain is targeting having over 1,000 stores in the UK by the end of 2025.
