Staff at a Wetherspoons have hit the bullseye after winning a charity darts tournament to raise money for charity.

The Picture Playhouse in Western Road in Bexhill beat over 300 teams to win the pub chain’s annual competition in aid of a cancer charity.

The tournament, which sees Wetherspoons pubs competing against each other, raised over £140,000 for to help young people tackling the disease.

Ryan Russell, manager of the Picture Playhouse, said: “I would like to thank everyone that took part in organising such an amazing event for Young Lives vs Cancer. We are so proud to have contributed towards helping young people with cancer.

“Secondly the Picture Playhouse would like to thank every team that took part in the event, it was so nice to meet fellow Wetherspoons employees from across the country.

It was a great pleasure to be a part of the tournament and we’re all so proud to be taking the trophy not only to the Picture Playhouse, Bexhill but to East Sussex.”

Money raised from the competition will go to support Young Lives vs Cancer, a charity which supports people under 25 who have been diagnosed with the disease.
