The cast of a show which transports viewers back to the 1950s visited some of the city's vintage shops this morning.
They went on a tour around Brighton's North Laine to see some of the unique shops the area has to offer.
Home, I'm Darling is a National Theatre production by award-winning playwright Laura Wade which explores the story of one woman's quest to be the perfect 1950s housewife.
But, it raises many questions in the process.
How happily married are the happily married?
Every couple needs a little fantasy to keep their marriage sparkling. But behind the gingham curtains, things start to unravel, and being a domestic goddess is not as easy as it seems.
Matthew Douglas, who plays Marcus in the show, said: "I play a successful businessman, who runs his own agency.
"Marcus loves jive dancing and living life in the 50s, and a he's bit of a naughty man.
"The show is full of great fun, music and dancing. It's been a steep curve to learn the 50s jive dances and steps, which I've never done before, but I'm really enjoying it."
The cast visited vintage shops Collectif in Bond Street and Snoopers Paradise in Kensington Gardens.
They are in the city for four days as part of their theatrical tour of the country.
Matthew said: "The Theatre Royal is one of the oldest theatres in the country and it's absolutely stunning."
Marcus's wife in the play, Fran, is performed by King Lear and Coronation Street star Cassie Bradley.
She said: "Fran is a sparky, fun and energetic character. She loves to dance and is incredibly vivacious and full of curiousity.
"She's one of those people who is into everything, and has a new hobby every month.
"I love the costumes for the play so much. My hair is curled for the show so I have curly hair in real life. I'm really embracing the look and I feel like I've discovered a whole new way of dressing.
"Rehearsals have been fast paced, feeling like we were on Strictly while learning how to jive."
A spokeswoman for the Theatre Royal Brighton said: "We’re thrilled to have the company of Home, I’m Darling visit us this week, including Jessica Ransom, Neil McDermott, Cassie Bradley and Matthew Douglas.
"As a play revolving around characters who love the 50s and all things vintage, what better place to explore with said cast than North Laine, specifically Brighton hotspot Snoopers Paradise – the vintage shop of your dreams - and our neighbours on Bond Street, Collectif Brighton who have the tagline, incredibly fitting for this show, 'vintage style modern life' adorning their sign."
