A hit TV design show took a trip to the seaside for a summertime challenge.

During last night’s episode of Design Masters, contestants were tasked with transforming Eastbourne’s beach chalets.

The five remaining designers in the BBC show, which is based in Brighton, were given a brief for each chalet and had two days to revamp the 90-year-old structures into multi-functional seaside retreats.

The episode was filmed last year and the designers set to work on their smallest spaces to date while battling a heatwave.
