Strong winds are expected to batter the coast throughout the morning and the Met Office has issued a weather warning.
The yellow warning, spanning all of coastal Sussex, including Brighton, Hastings and Chichester, states that strong winds will cause disruption to travel in the county.
The warning has been in place since 9pm last night and will remain until 12pm today.
Commuters are warned to expect delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport, which the Met Office deems "likely".

A spokesman for the national weather service added: "There will probably some bus and train services affected and some journeys will take longer than normal."
Gusts are expected to reach up to 70mph, which will also cause delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges.
The wind is part of Storm Mathis, named by Météo-France, and the impacts will be felt much more strongly in mainland Europe.
