If you’re a Nando’s fan like me you won’t be disappointed with the chain’s newest Sussex addition.
The site in Worthing, which seats 102 inside and 24 outside, opened its doors to hungry customers yesterday after months of preparation.
It is in the former Laura Ashley unit in the Montague Centre and is spacious, bright and airy, although my partner and I thought they could have put a few more tables in, with big glass windows looking on to Montague Place.
We were greeted by a friendly member of staff and taken to a table close to the bustling hub of the kitchen where employees were busy dishing out food and packing up delivery orders.
The typical Nando’s queue snaked around the building and throughout our time there there were several groups waiting to be seated.

The interior’s colourful décor referenced the company’s South African heritage and the big light features and vibrant colours created a warm environment.
Features include beaded mirrors from Sithabe African Art, inspired by the traditional beaded neck rings of the Ndebele tribe, and the work of South African designer Bonolo Chepape, who Nando’s teamed up with to create the seating fabric in the restaurant.
Using the QR code on our table to order I opted for my favourite, the sunset burger and the halloumi sticks and dips to begin.
The halloumi was very quick to arrive, as were our drinks and the main was not too far behind.
My sunset burger was just as delicious as each and every time I’ve had it elsewhere, as were my sides of peri-peri salted chips and lemony broccoli.
We were checked on by another friendly member of staff, one of the 40-strong team taken on by the new restaurant, and each staff member we encountered was polite and efficient.
It was a very satisfactory visit, we were in and out of the restaurant in just over an hour with full and happy stomachs, having enjoyed what we have come to expect from the company, with the food very much up to scratch.
If you love a cheeky Nando’s, you won’t go wrong with Worthing Nando’s.
