A new Starbucks in Brighton will open tomorrow, it has been revealed.
The new coffee shop will open in London Road within a newly-built student housing block, offering customers its full range of espressos, iced coffee and frappuccinos.
To celebrate the opening, Starbucks will be offering 50 lucky customers complimentary reusable cups during the first week.
Callum Gosling, the store’s manager, said: “Opening the London Road store will be the biggest and most exciting so far, and I am looking forward to building a great team to become a bigger part of the Brighton and Hove store team.”
To reduce food waste, the new store will offer Too Good To Go from April - an app that connects customers to restaurants and stores that have unsold food.
The store, which has created ten new jobs, has a contemporary design, with a selection of indoor seating - offering customers the opportunity to enjoy a handcrafted cup of coffee and relax with free Wi-Fi.
Team member Matthew said: “I am very excited for the store to finally open.
“We’ve got an excellent team and I’m excited for us to all be one big group working in one store as a family.”
The opening comes just a few weeks after the opening of a new dessert shop as part of the same complex, with a Nando’s restaurant also set to open in the near future.
Signs teasing the opening of the coffee shop have been on display for around four months, with a sign with the company’s logo appearing recently.
Cobra Coffee, a Sussex-based Starbucks licensee which is part of Southern Co-op, will operate the new store.
The company had previously submitted a planning application to open a Starbucks on the other side of London Road at the location of a former Chinese restaurant. However, the site has since reopened as a vegan bistro.
The Starbucks will be open from 7am to 6pm Monday to Saturday and from 8am to 5pm on Sundays.
It will be the chain’s sixth in the city, with Starbucks’ other branches located in St James’s Street, North Road and Marina Way, with two in Western Road.
