A major clothing brand has confirmed when it will close its Lewes store in another bitter blow for the high street.
National chain M&Co collapsed in December, for the second time in two years, when it announced all 170 of its stores would shut by Spring 2023.
It has now been revealed the Lewes store will close from April 1.
“Please do come in and say farewell to the team who have served many of the Lewes community over the last 30 years,” read a statement on the store’s social media.
“As you can imagine, it is very hard for the staff to receive the closing date news so please be mindful of that.

“We are still smiling and are ready to welcome you into the store.”
M&Co’s Lewes site joins five others closing on the same day. They are in Gosport, Belper, Beccles, Newquay and Lerwick.
The brand and intellectual property has been sold to Yours Clothing, but the stores and staff were not included in the rescue deal.
Customers can still grab a bargain as huge sales of between 30 to 60 percent are in place as stores attempt to flog their stock.
