There are 30 minute delays on the A27 due to a weekend road closure.
A road closure is in place on the westbound A27 at Shoreham bypass all the way to Lancing Manor roundabout.
The road will reopen at 6am on Monday morning.
Congestion is stretching back all the way to the Southwick turn-off.
A spokeswoman for National Highways said: "A fully signed diversion will be in place in westbound from the Shoreham Bypass A283 Steyning Road to A24 from Offington Corner via Washington roundabout.
"Pedestrians and cyclists may be diverted through the westbound layby. When we have lane closures, there will be a 40mph speed limit for motorists to keep our team and the travelling public safe.
"Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.
"We're building a new roundabout on the A27 east of Lancing to give access to the New Monks Farm development and provide better links to Brighton City Airport.

"The next phase of our work will see all westbound traffic rerouted onto the new A27 westbound carriageway around the roundabout with improvement works starting on the westbound and eastbound carriageways."
The work is expected to last until May this year.
There is also congestion on the A283 into Shoreham.
Queues are stretching along the A259 from the Ropetackle Theatre all the way back to Albion Street in Southwick.
