Police have issued an update after officers were called to an incident near a busy seafront attraction.
Patrol cars were spotted near the Brighton Palace Pier as officers spoke to a "vulnerable" young person.
Photographs show three police cars parked near Madeira Drive and the Aquarium Roundabout.
The cycle lane was blocked as police attended the incident, with officers checking on the wellbeing of the youngster.
Police were called at around 12.30pm and were pictured near the pier around an hour later.
A section of road connecting the east end of Madiera Drive with the coast road was also shut off by a parked police car.
A spokesman for Sussex Police said: "Police were called to an incident involving a vulnerable young person on Brighton Palace Pier at about 12.30pm on Wednesday, March 15.
"Officers have provided her with support, and ensured appropriate safeguarding measures are in place."
