Trains across East Sussex have come to a standstill due to a signalling fault.
Rail lines between Lewes and Seaford are currently blocked with no services travelling in either direction after the fault earlier this morning.
Passengers are being forced to travel by “limited” rail replacement buses and are also being advised to travel via Brighton to reach their destinations.
In a series of tweets, a spokesman for Southern Rail said: “Due to a fault with the signalling system between Lewes and Seaford all lines are closed.
“Passengers for Lewes are advised to take the bus to Brighton and catch a train from there.

“We have a very limited rail replacement bus service confirmed. A bus will depart Lewes and another from Seaford at 15 minutes past the hour, calling at all stations.”
Due to the fault, services are currently unable to stop in Southease, Newhaven Town, Newhaven Harbour, Bishopstone and Seaford.
The signalling fault has since been rectified but there is now a broken down train on the line which is causing further disruption.
The delays are expected to continue until 8.30am.
