Schoolchildren took part in a workshop, learning songs, rhymes and dance to perform on stage.
The pupils, aged six to ten, performed a showcase of Treasure Island at the Old Barn Theatre, Southwick, with Bouncing Cloud Theatre Company on Saturday afternoon.
Bouncing Cloud was set up by Sally Saunders, Debra Wade and Wendy Charles in response to a request for drama at a school book week in Hangleton, Hove.
They have written and performed three shows including Treasure Island and are working on two new shows.
Mrs Charles, director and chairwoman, said: "We aim to introduce children, some as young as three, to the joy of being on stage and teach them to gain confidence through performance."
