Drivers in the Southeast have racked up the most point on their licenses, a study has found.
Data from the DVLA has found that nearly 400,000 drivers in the region have picked up points, topping motorists in London and across the UK.
The study, carried out through a Freedom of Information request by Scrap Car Comparison, also found that most drivers had gained points from driving over the speed limit, with driving while uninsured another common offence.
In the Southeast, 392,673 drivers have picked up points on their licenses, compared to just over 340,000 in London.

Across the UK, two thirds of the drivers who had points on their license accrued them through speeding.
Dan Gick, managing director of Scrap Car Comparison, said: “Laws are there for a reason, and in the case of driving, they will most definitely make your experience on the roads a safer one when followed, and rescue the chance of your car ending up in a crash and on the scrap heap.”
